TAG Joins The Austin Fight To Defend Ridesharing Technology

Generous pay and volunteer opportunities are available for those willing to blockwalk and gather petition signatures to stop a destructive Ordinance (ORDINANCE NO. 20151217-075) that goes into effect in the City of Austin on February 1st, which will force Uber and Lyft to leave. These rideshare companies provide millions of rides in hundreds of cities worldwide, and there is no rational cause for this sudden ‘public safety concern.’

This 12-page ordinance is not about public safety, it’s about consolidating Power. >> Read the ordinance here.

We are looking for activists who will help gather the 20k needed petition signatures. The coalition, Ridesharing Works, has taken on this cause, however we need our experienced activists to support this effort – no organization can get the job done alone. TAG has changed laws at a local and state level, and it’s time to use our experience and influence to defend the freedoms that make Austin great, and… Keeps Austin Weird.

Training is available and you’ll be provided with all the tools needed to run a successful signature gathering effort.

Petitions may only be signed by registered voters that live in Austin, and must include: full name, address, date of birth, and or voter registration number. >> Download the petition here.
